Your Weekly Surf Outlook - 23rd Oct 2026.
Happy Friday!
Happy Friday! We've got a bit more swell and a bit less wind coming in this week, which should be lovely.
A reminder that we have a social surf tomorrow (Saturday) at 1pm, and we'd love to see you there if you can make it! Conditions are looking super lush for it, so it should be a great day out. 🌊
Our Summer Two-Day Intensives are also open for booking, and spots are starting to fill up. If you're keen to join us for one between November and January, jump online and grab your spot ASAP!
Here’s a rough guide to what we’re expecting over the next week:
Saturday: Pretty clean and lovely, with the morning looking best.
Swell – We have a single SW swell with a decent 14-second period pushing through, so we should see nice, clean lines all over. We're expecting 1-2ft at Addis and Cosy, 2-3ft at Torquay, OG, and Urqs, 3-4ft at Juc and 13th, 4-5ft at Guvs, and 5-6ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside. We may see the odd set with an extra foot across all beaches first thing in the morning.
Wind – Super mild nearly all day. It's offshore first thing in the morning, swinging onshore for the rest of the day, but it's so mild we don't think you'll notice it. It's due to pick up a little around 6pm, which might put some slight mush in the waves then.
Tide – Still quite mellow. High of 1.7m at 10:24am and a low of 0.9m at 4:22pm.
Sunday: Relatively nice, though we could see a little chop.
Swell – We still have our nice primary SW swell with a 13-14 second period, though there are hints that an S swell might push through too. It's not confirmed in the forecast, but if it does come through, we may see some double-ups and slightly lumpy waves. At the moment, we're expecting 1-2ft at Cosy and Addis, 2-3ft at Torquay, OG, and Urqs, 3-4ft at 13th, Juc, and Guvs, and 5-6ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside.
Wind – Onshore all day, but not doing a heap. It's mildest between 9am and 3pm, so that's your best window. Even in the early morning and late evening, it's not super dramatic. Definitely not a deal breaker.
Tide – Starting to move in the right direction, but still quite mellow. High of 1.7m at 11:23am and a low of 0.8m at 5:23pm.
Monday: A bit all over the place but has real potential.
Swell – The swell forecast for Monday is currently a bit of a mess. It jumps up and down between 4 and 8ft out of nowhere more than once, and secondary swells keep appearing and disappearing, making things a bit unpredictable. We think it could either clean up loads or become quite trashy, but we're not sure which based on the current forecast. At this stage, for most of the day we'd expect 1-2ft at Fishos (high tide), Whites, and Roady (evening low), 2-3ft at Addis and Cosy, 3-4ft at Torquay, OG, and Urqs, 4-5ft at Juc and 13th, 5-6ft at Guvs, and 7-8ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside. Based on the current forecast, we're expecting about 2ft less across all beaches between 9am and 12pm, with potentially an extra push in size around 6am, though we're unsure about that one.
Wind – Largely cross-shore all day, swinging from WNW to SW. It's enough to be a little noticeable, but not a deal breaker, sitting between 11-15km/h throughout the day. We may get the occasional stronger gust, but it shouldn't impact things too much. If you're worried about the wind, you can always head to a beach with westerly cliffs, like Addis, Juc, or Torquay, for a little extra protection.
Tide – We're starting to get a bit more of a swing, especially in the afternoon. Lows of 1.0m at 6:16am and 0.6m at 6:12pm, with a high of 1.8m at 12:13pm.
Tuesday: A nice single swell, so we should find some clean faces to play in.
Swell – We have a nice single SW swell today, so in theory we should be able to find some lovely, clean wave faces. We're expecting 1-2ft at Cosy and Addis, 2-3ft at Torquay, OG, and Urqs, 3-4ft at Juc and 13th, 4-5ft at Guvs, and 5-6ft at Bells, Southside, and Winki. We may see the occasional extra foot in size around sunrise, but it should drop off relatively quickly.
Wind – Cross-shore all day from the W. Again, noticeable but not a deal breaker. We don't think it'll impact the waves too much, but you can always head to beaches protected from the W to find the cleanest waves on offer.
Tide – A bit more of an even swing. Lows of 0.9m at 7:08am and 0.4m at 6:56pm, with a high of 1.8m at 12:57pm.
Wednesday: Potential for something clean, though the wind might get into it a little.
Swell – We have our primary swell from the last few days slowly dying off while a new swell builds, so we're likely to get some double-ups as the two SW swells overlap. We're also seeing some variation in size as they cross over. For most of the day, we're expecting 1-2ft at Cosy and Addis, 2-3ft at Torquay, OG, and Urqs, 3-4ft at Juc, 13th, and Guvs, and 4-5ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside. We may see an extra foot in size around sunset, with patches of waves a foot smaller, especially across the morning.
Wind – Mostly cross-shore to cross-offshore today, from WNW to W. It has a bit more push to it and is mildest in the morning. While it'll be noticeable, it shouldn't be a deal breaker. From around midday onwards, it's likely to put a little chop in the waves and become a bit more annoying. Still worth a paddle but be prepared to get moved along by the wind a little.
Tide – Nice, even swing. Lows of 0.9m at 7:51am and 0.3m at 7:38pm, with a high of 1.9m at 1:39pm.
Thursday: Growing swell and clean conditions should make for a fun day.
Swell – We have a single SW swell that's picking up in size and strength across the day. It should deliver some pretty nice, clean lines all day. At the moment, we're expecting 1-2ft at Addis and Cosy, 2-3ft at Torquay, OG, and Urqs, 3-4ft at Juc and 13th, 4-5ft at Guvs, and 5-6ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside. From around 3pm onwards, we're expecting an extra foot in size across all beaches, and Roady should get going with 1-2ft for an evening surf.
Wind – Mostly cross-offshore (WNW) for the majority of the day before swinging cross-onshore (ESE) around 3pm. It's really mild all day, so we don't think you'll notice it, with the exception of around 6pm when it picks up just a tiny bit. Enough to be annoying, but not a deal breaker.
Tide – A good, decent swing. Lows of 0.8m at 8:30am and 0.1m at 8:20pm, with a high of 2.0m at 2:18pm.
Friday: Looking lush, lush, lush!
Swell – We have a big, single SW swell with a lovely 14-15 second period, meaning we should have lush, rolling waves all day long. At this stage, we're expecting 1-2ft at Whites, Fishos (high tide), and Roady (evening low), 2-3ft at Addis and Cosy, 3-4ft at Torquay, OG, and Urqs, 4-5ft at Juc and 13th, 5-6ft at Guvs, and 6-7ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside.
Wind – Swinging around a little from SE through to NNE across the day, but it's so mild you won't notice it at all. Not an issue.
Tide – Nice, big swing. Lows of 0.8m at 9:09am and 0.1m at 9:02pm, with a high of 2.0m at 2:59pm.
A note about the surf forecast: like all weather forecasts, the further away the prediction is, the more likely it is to change. Most forecasts are only vaguely accurate about four hours in advance, which is why we try and choose the locations for our surf lessons and events the night before to give us the best chance possible to have an accurate read on what will be happening out there. This forecast is to help give you an idea of where you might want to head but please check the forecast again the night before and morning of your planned surf to see if there have been any changes. Always please do a conditions check at the actual beach, because a forecast is still a forecast, and it can just be plain wrong.
If you’d like a daily email or text with detailed information on the forecast for next day (so as accurate as we can get it), you can sign up for our Tomorrow’s Forecast service via the button.
A note on wave size: we talk about the size of the waves in relation to the face or front - how big it would be if you are standing on your surfboard at the base of the wave face looking back at it. For reference, 1-2ft would be roughly knee to thigh (maybe waist) high waves.
That’s it for this week, legends! See you out in the water soon! 🌊✌️
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
