Your Weekly Surf Outlook - 24th Jul 2026.
Happy Friday! We’ve got decent sized swell pushing in all across this week, as well as some windier days! Definitely plenty of opportunities to get out there and get amongst it!
Here’s a rough guide to what we’re expecting over the next week based on the current forecast:
Saturday: Big and with a bit of wind. Should be clean enough though!
Swell – We have a solid single SW swell with nice 13 sec period, so we’re expecting nice clean wave faces to play in. We’re expecting 2-3ft at Fishos and Whites all day, Roady may get going with similar however not rolling the whole way through – just on the inside bank around the lower tide, 3-4ft at Addis and Cosy, 4-5ft at Torquay, Ocean Grove, and Urquharts Bluff, 6-7ft at Juc, and 13th, 7-8ft at Guvvos, and 9-10ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside. We’re expecting all beaches to lose a little push across the day and be more on the smaller side of that range by the late arvo and evening.
Wind – Cross-shore (W) all day and moderate, hovering around 18-19km/h all day with stronger gusts. You’ll notice it, and it’ll push you down the beach a bit so keep an eye on your positioning. But it shouldn’t create too much chop, especially at protected breaks like Addis and Urqs.
Tide – Very mild and on the mid to high side all day. High of 1.8m at 7:41am and low of 1.2m at 12:47pm. Unlikely any of our low tide locations will get going.
Sunday: Waves are dropping in size a little, though wind is holding steady.
Swell – We have a single SW swell for most of the day, that’s dropping size a little as we go. We’re hoping for relatively clean 1-2ft peelers at Fishos pretty much all day, 2-3ft at Addis and Cosy, 3-4ft at Torq, OG, and Urqs, 4-5ft at Juc and the Torquay end of 13th, 5-6ft at the Barwon Heads end of 13th and Guvvos, and 6-7ft at Winki, Bells, and Southside. More likely to be on the smaller end of those predictions by the end of the day.
Wind – Cross-shore (W) again all day and with a little push. Should be very surfable all day, with first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening the calmest times with the wind.
Tide – An even more mellow swing with no real low. High of 1.8m at 8:45am and low of 1.3m at 1:50pm. Unlikely any of our low tide locations will get going.
Monday: Should be plenty of clean waves about today – more reasonable in size and a little less wind.
Swell – We a single SW swell all day with 11 sec period. We’re expecting 1-2ft at Addis and Cosy, 2-3ft at Torq, OG, and Urqs, 4-5ft at Guvs, 13th, and Juc, and 5-6ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside.
Wind – Cross-offshore (WNW) all day and pretty mild, only really picking up a touch from around midday for a couple of hours. Not a deal breaker at any time of the day, just more annoying in the early arvo.
Tide – Barely moving. High of 1.8m at 9:56am and low of 1.4m at 3:32pm.
Tuesday: Windy with a big jump in swell – worth keeping an eye on as we get closer but at this stage, looks like the best rest day of the week.
Swell – It’s a bit of a mess at the moment with a primary SW swell that’s due to dramatically jump in size, along with some secondaries that have a little size to them but appear and disappear across the day. We suspect the forecast is not actually sure what’s coming when, and it’ll likely change a bit before we get there. At the moment, in the morning, it’s looking mostly like a single SW swell pushing in and delivering 1-2ft at Addis and Cosy, 2-3ft at Torq, OG, and Urqs, 4-5ft at Guvs, 13th, and Juc, and 5-6ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside (the wind will likely be making it not super pleasant though clean enough). At this stage, we have some solid SW secondary waves coming through in the arvo which will mean double ups and slightly chunkier waves. Then at 6pm, we see a huge and sudden doubling in size of the swell. It’s unlikely to just appear out of nowhere which is why we think the forecast will change as we get closer. If it comes through as it says, by 6pm we’re expecting 2-3ft at Fishos, Whites, and Roady on the inside bank, 3-4ft at Addis and Cosy, 4-5ft at Torquay, Ocean Grove, and Urquharts Bluff, 6-7ft at Juc, and 13th, 7-8ft at Guvvos, and 9-10ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside.
Wind – Offshore to cross-offshore (NW) all day, but strong. We’re expecting the wave faces to really be standing up and looking steep, with pretty strong gusts about. If you’re going to paddle out, first thing in the morning best and you may get a tiny amount of protection from the wind at Addis, Urqs, and Cosy. It’s continuing to build across the day and if it comes through, we’d be avoiding surfing from around midday onwards as it’s in the dangerous range (unless you want to go hunting for wild barrels- they’ll likely be about).
Tide – Still mellow as. High of 1.9m at 11:02am and low of 1.3m at 5:34pm.
Wednesday: Lush and big!
Swell – We have a single SW swell with long 14 sec period. Expecting 2-3ft at Fishos, Whites, and Roady on the inside bank in the early morning and evening, 3-4ft at Addis and Cosy, 4-5ft at Torquay, Ocean Grove, and Urquharts Bluff, 6-7ft at Juc, and 13th, 7-8ft at Guvvos, and 9-10ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside.
Wind – Cross-shore (W) to cross-onshore (WSW) all day and super mild. Shouldn’t impact much at all in our waves, leaving them clean and glassy.
Tide – Still mellow but starting to move a little more. High of 1.9m at 11:57am and low of 1.2m at 6:34pm.
Thursday: Another really lovely looking day with the swell starting to drop off a touch.
Swell – One solid SW swell all day with nice 12-13 sec period. We’re hoping for clean 1-2ft peelers at Fishos pretty all day, 2-3ft at Addis and Cosy, 3-4ft at Torq, OG, and Urqs, 4-5ft at Juc and the Torquay end of 13th, 5-6ft at the Barwon Heads end of 13th and Guvvos, and 6-7ft at Winki, Bells, and Southside. As the swell drops off across the day, you’ll likely see sets on the smaller sides of those predictions in the arvo and evening.
Wind – Cross shore (W) all day and mostly very mild. You may notice a very occasional gust, but otherwise we’re not expecting it to have much impact at all.
Tide – There’s the tiniest bit more swing coming through with the early morning low. Lows of 0.7m at 5:23am and 1.1m at 7:08pm with a high of 2.0m at 12:40pm.
Friday: Looking pretty lovely and a bit calmer at this stage, though better in the morning.
Swell – We have two SW swells pushing in though the secondary at this stage is tiny – we think it’ll be largely unnoticeable most of the morning and may lead to some tiny double ups or slightly lumpier waves if you head out in the late arvo or evening. At this stage, we’re expecting relatively clean 1-2ft at Addis and Cosy, 2-3ft at Torq, OG, and Urqs, 4-5ft at Guvs, 13th, and Juc, and 5-6ft at Bells, Winki, and Southside.
Wind – Cross-offshore (WNW) all day and picking up a little as the day goes on. Definitely best first thing in the morning, though it’s still very surfable in the arvo. Just expect to have to keep repositioning yourself as the wind will move you a touch, and there’s potential for slightly steeper wave faces too.
Tide – A much nicer swing than we’ve had all week. Low of 0.6m at 6:14am and a high of 2.1m at 1:18pm.
A note about the surf forecast: like all weather forecasts, the further away the prediction is, the more likely it is to change. Most forecasts are only vaguely accurate about four hours in advance, which is why we try and choose the locations for our surf lessons and events the night before to give us the best chance possible to have an accurate read on what will be happening out there. This forecast is to help give you an idea of where you might want to head but please check the forecast again the night before and morning of your planned surf to see if there have been any changes. Always please do a conditions check at the actual beach, because a forecast is still a forecast, and it can just be plain wrong.
If you’d like a daily email or text with detailed information on the forecast for next day (so as accurate as we can get it), you can sign up for our Tomorrow’s Forecast service via the button.
A note on wave size: we talk about the size of the waves in relation to the face or front - how big it would be if you are standing on your surfboard at the base of the wave face looking back at it. For reference, 1-2ft would be roughly knee to thigh (maybe waist) high waves.
That’s it for this week, legends! See you out in the water soon! 🌊✌️
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
