Sustainability
& Climate Action

IMG_0762.JPG

The health of the ocean, the natural environment, and the community are central to everything we do. Operating responsibly, minimizing environmental impact, and contributing to climate action are commitments we take seriously.

This page outlines our Sustainability Plan, Climate Action initiatives, and Emissions Reduction goals. These are evolving frameworks, designed to grow as new opportunities and improvements are identified.

Sustainability Plan

Three guiding principles shape our approach:

  1. Protecting the Environment – reducing waste, minimizing single-use plastics, and sourcing responsibly.

  2. Supporting Community – partnering with local suppliers, showcasing regional produce, and contributing to the Surf Coast economy.

  3. Educating & Inspiring – empowering guests to adopt eco-friendly practices in daily life and while enjoying the ocean.

Climate Action Plan

Steps already underway include:

  • Providing plant-based meals to reduce emissions.

  • Implementing energy-efficient practices across camp operations.

  • Reducing transport emissions through carpooling and efficient scheduling.

  • Exploring opportunities for renewable energy and carbon offsetting.

Emissions
Reduction Plan

Ongoing priorities are focused on measurable improvements in four areas:

  • Energy Use – decreasing reliance on non-renewable energy.

  • Food & Waste – minimizing food waste and composting organics.

  • Equipment & Resources – extending the life cycle of surf gear and choosing sustainable suppliers.

  • Travel & Transport – encouraging low-emission options for staff and guests.

Alternative Emissions Reduction Assessment

This independent review will support transparency, accountability, and help guide the long-term strategy for lowering our footprint.

our promise

Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. By setting measurable goals, reviewing progress, and collaborating with the community, we aim to create positive change — protecting the environment we call home while sharing it responsibly with future generations.
