WATERFALL WALKS & LORNE ADVENTURES
Lorne, nestled along Victoria’s picturesque Great Ocean Road, offers a range of stunning waterfall walks that showcase the natural beauty of the Otway Ranges. Embark on a scenic road trip to explore some of the region’s most captivating waterfalls: Sheoak Falls, and Erskine Falls, as well as our favourite lookout - Teddy’s!
TEDDY'S LOOKOUT
Teddy’s Lookout provides an impressive vantage point with sweeping views of the rugged coastline and the confluence of the St. George River and the Southern Ocean. While not a waterfall itself, the lookout offers breathtaking perspectives of the surrounding landscape and serves as the perfect starting point for your waterfall adventure. From here, you can appreciate the dramatic cliffs and lush forests that define the region.

SHEOAK FALLS
A short drive from Lorne, Sheoak Falls is a hidden gem tucked away in the lush forest. This easy walk, approximately 20 minutes round trip, leads you to a serene waterfall cascading over mossy rocks into a tranquil pool. The path meanders through dense bushland, offering a peaceful and immersive experience. The gentle sound of the falling water and the surrounding greenery create a soothing atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a quiet retreat.
ERSKINE FALLS
Further along the road, Erskine Falls is one of the most iconic waterfalls in the Otways. A moderately challenging 30-minute walk will take you through beautiful forest scenery to the base of the falls, where you’ll be greeted by a dramatic drop of 30 meters. The viewing platform provides an excellent vantage point to admire the full grandeur of the falls, surrounded by lush ferns and towering trees. The sight and sound of the cascading water create a truly awe-inspiring experience.
These waterfall walks around Lorne offer a refreshing and scenic escape, making them must-visit destinations on your road trip along the Great Ocean Road.

12 APOSTLES, LOCH ARD GORGE & GIBSON'S STEPS
Embark on a breathtaking road trip along the Great Ocean Road and discover three of Victoria's most iconic coastal landmarks: the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, and Gibson's Steps. Each destination offers its own unique glimpse into the dramatic beauty of Australia's rugged coastline.

12 APOSTLES
The 12 Apostles are a series of striking limestone stacks rising majestically from the Southern Ocean, creating one of Australia's most famous natural landmarks. These towering rock formations, shaped by centuries of erosion, provide a stunning backdrop for photographs and awe-inspiring views. Visitors can explore the well-maintained boardwalks and lookout points that offer panoramic vistas of the apostles against the ever-changing ocean. The best times to visit are during sunrise or sunset when the light casts a golden glow over the rock formations.
LOCH ARD GORGE
Just a short drive from the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge is renowned for its dramatic cliffs and sheltered beach. Named after the Loch Ard shipwreck of 1878, the gorge offers a fascinating glimpse into maritime history and natural beauty. Wander along the beach, explore the surrounding rock formations, and visit the picturesque lookout points to appreciate the gorge’s stunning scenery. The area’s crystal-clear waters and rugged cliffs make it a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll and reflection.

GIBSON'S STEPS
Gibson’s Steps is another must-see on your coastal adventure, providing direct access to the beach beneath the towering cliffs. The steps, carved into the rock face, lead you down to a stunning stretch of sand where you can marvel at the sheer scale of the coastal cliffs and rock formations. From the beach, you'll get a unique perspective of the 12 Apostles and experience the powerful forces of nature that have shaped this dramatic landscape.
These destinations, each with their own charm and grandeur, offer an unforgettable road trip experience along one of Australia's most scenic routes.

LAKE ELIZABETH &
STEPHENSON FALLS
The Otways, a lush and enchanting region in Victoria, Australia, offers a haven of natural beauty, featuring pristine lakes and cascading waterfalls. Two standout destinations in this serene landscape are Lake Elizabeth and Stephenson’s Falls, each providing a unique and captivating experience.
LAKE ELIZABETH
Lake Elizabeth, located within the heart of the Otway Ranges, is a tranquil and picturesque lake formed by a landslide in the 1950s. Accessible via a pleasant 3.2-kilometre walk through dense forest, the journey to the lake is as enchanting as the destination itself. The path meanders through lush, ancient rainforest, offering glimpses of the vibrant flora and fauna that call the Otways home. Upon reaching the lake, you’ll be greeted by its calm, reflective waters, surrounded by towering eucalyptus trees and misty hills. The lake is a popular spot for platypus watching, especially during the early morning or late afternoon. The serene atmosphere and stunning natural setting make Lake Elizabeth a perfect spot for peaceful contemplation and wildlife observation.

STEPHENSON FALLS
Stephenson’s Falls is another highlight of the Otways, showcasing the dramatic beauty of the region’s waterfalls. Located about 15 minutes from the town of Beech Forest, the falls can be reached via a short and easy 10-minute walk through the forest. The falls drop 20 meters into a lush, fern-filled gorge, creating a captivating sight and a soothing soundscape of cascading water. The surrounding forest is dense and verdant, with the path leading to several viewpoints that offer different perspectives of the falls. The cool, misty air and the sound of the waterfall make Stephenson’s Falls a refreshing and invigorating stop on your exploration of the Otways
On Wednesdays here at camp, we pack up the van and head off on an adventure along the Great Ocean Road. Here are just some of the iconic spots we visit, but there's nothing like a locals knowledge...
Incredibly well designed and planned week.
The surf instruction was great, I went from compete beginner to feeling confident on the board. The whole week of activities was great fun. We saw koalas and kangaroos and swam in waterfalls along the great ocean road. The food was delicious and the camp was comfortable.
